Sometimes life appears to be out of or beyond any semblance of control, but the truth is you have control--control of how you approach the chaos or the order.
I am not sure about you, but I have felt like I have been living in an upside down world for quiet sometime; life, things, or events just don't seem like what they are. In my attempt to gauge this feeling, I have sadly been disappointed, it appears I am in the minority with regards to my observations.
At this point in my life, I have come to the decision to act in the most authentic and ethical ways of my heart. If that means my circle becomes smaller, so be it; the "I am" will not die for the group, we are past that age. Now is the age of the "I am" and group cooperation, it must incorporate into the group without sacrificing itself for or to the group, while maintaining a relationship with "self needs" and "group needs." It's a delicate balance that must be done by each individual, no one is authorized to make these decisions for you. So when you feel like you have lost yourself within the group, then go back to the "I am" from a heart space, and ask yourself what are your needs at this time. When you are operating from a heart space your decision will be what is best for you and the group.
Wherever you are in your journey, I hope you find your way to yourself without isolating yourself. Life is a gift, don't let anyone take that gift away from you.
The song "Here I go Again" by Whitesnake comes to mind. I've linked the video, if you want to explore.
I love you.
Take care of yourself.
